PixioDoc is a focused before-and-after photography app for aesthetic practices, and it competes on two things most rivals avoid: simplicity and price. Where established clinical photography platforms hide costs behind sales calls, PixioDoc publishes its pricing — a free plan for up to 10 patients and a Pro plan at €8.99 per month (up from roughly €6.99). That makes it one of the cheapest credible entries in the category by a wide margin.

The product itself is deliberately narrow. It captures standardized clinical photos, organises them into per-patient timelines, and makes comparisons easy. It does not try to be a consult platform, an EMR, or a marketing tool — and for many small med spas, that is exactly the right scope.

What stands out

• Ghost-overlay capture. When retaking a photo, a translucent overlay of the previous image guides framing and angle, so any staff member can produce genuinely comparable follow-up shots. This is the core problem in aesthetic photo documentation, and PixioDoc solves it cleanly.
• One-swipe before/after slider. On the Pro plan, consult-room comparisons are a single swipe — a small thing that makes results conversations with patients dramatically smoother.

Where it falls short

The most important caveat for US buyers is regulatory posture. PixioDoc is EU-based (Ireland) and hosted in the EU, with a compliance story built around GDPR rather than HIPAA. US med spas storing protected health information should confirm exactly what HIPAA Business Associate Agreement terms PixioDoc will sign — and where data resides — before committing patient photos to it.

Second, third-party verification is thin. We found no meaningful volume of reviews on G2, Capterra or similar platforms, so there are no verifiable aggregate ratings to report here — the feature and pricing claims above come from the vendor's own materials and our own inspection, not a large installed base speaking publicly. That also means the support and onboarding experience is largely unproven at scale, which is why we temper our support score.

Finally, the scope cuts both ways: there is no charting, consult presentation, patient education or practice-management layer. PixioDoc is a photography tool, full stop, and its best comparison feature — the before/after slider — sits behind the Pro paywall.

Choose PixioDoc if you are a solo injector or small med spa that wants consistent, professional before-and-after photos on a phone, at a price that is essentially a rounding error. The free tier makes the decision low-risk: run 10 real patients through it and see if the ghost-overlay workflow sticks with your team. US practices should get the HIPAA BAA question answered in writing first, and clinics that need photography embedded in a broader consult or EMR workflow should look at fuller platforms like TouchMD instead.
