Our verdict

A transparent, well-reviewed flat-rate liability program with occurrence-form coverage and Gallagher behind it — excellent for individual beauty and esthetics professionals, but not a med-spa entity or injectable malpractice solution.

About

Elite Beauty Society is a membership-style insurance program that bundles professional and general liability for beauty and wellness professionals — estheticians, cosmetologists, lash and brow artists, makeup artists, mobile-spa operators and more than 500 listed services — at a published flat rate starting at $179 per year.

The program is an agency/broker arrangement rather than a carrier: policies are placed through Arthur J. Gallagher and underwritten in the surplus lines market by a carrier the program describes as A-rated (Excellent) by AM Best. Coverage is written on the occurrence form, follows the member across all 50 states (including mobile work), and layers on extras such as rental damage, stolen equipment and identity theft protection. It is a strong fit for the esthetics side of an aesthetics business — it is not an entity policy for a medical spa performing injectables under medical direction.

Ideal customer

Individual estheticians, lash/brow/PMU artists, cosmetologists and mobile-spa professionals — including those renting space inside a med spa — who want cheap, instant, occurrence-form liability. Not the right vehicle for a med spa's corporate/entity or injectable malpractice coverage.

Our Elite Beauty Society review

Why Elite Beauty Society

Elite Beauty Society is what liability insurance looks like when it is built for e-commerce rather than for brokers: a published flat rate ($179 a year for professionals, $149 part-time, $49 for students), an instant online checkout, and a certificate of insurance in your inbox the same day. It is a membership-style program rather than an insurance company — policies are placed through Arthur J. Gallagher, one of the world's largest brokers, and underwritten in the surplus lines market by a carrier the program describes as A-rated (Excellent) by AM Best.

The coverage itself is respectable for the price. Professional and general liability run to $2M per occurrence and $3M per policy year, with $2M of product liability, plus smaller bolt-ons — $100,000 rental damage, stolen equipment cover and identity theft protection. Crucially, the policy is written on the occurrence form, so an incident that happens while you're insured remains covered even if the claim surfaces after you've lapsed. At this price point, that is genuinely uncommon and worth having.

What stands out

Transparency and reputation. There is no quoting dance: the price on the website is the price everyone pays, and coverage follows you across all 50 states, including mobile work. The consumer footprint is unusually strong for a small insurance program — a 4.7/5 Trustpilot score across roughly 963 reviews at our last check, and an A+ BBB rating with accreditation since May 2024. Reviewers consistently praise the sign-up and renewal experience. Additional insured endorsements are available, which matters if you rent a room inside a spa and your landlord (or host med spa) requires proof of coverage naming them.

Watch-outs

Be clear about what this is not. Elite Beauty Society covers beauty and esthetics services — facials, lashes, brows, waxing, makeup, and (with a paid endorsement) microblading. It is not medical malpractice, and it is not an entity policy for a med spa performing injectables, laser or IV therapy under medical direction. A med spa owner cannot insure the business on this policy; at most, it insures the esthetics-side individuals working in or alongside the practice. The underlying carrier is also identified only as an A-rated surplus lines insurer rather than named outright, which is normal for these programs but less transparent than buying from a named admitted carrier. Finally, while reviews skew heavily positive, a minority of complaints concern fees and auto-renewal or cancellation friction — read the renewal terms before you buy.

Who it's for

For solo estheticians, lash and PMU artists, booth renters and mobile-spa professionals — including those operating within a med spa's four walls — Elite Beauty Society is one of the best value-for-money policies on the market: occurrence form, real limits, honest pricing and a verifiable review base. Med spa owners should treat it as a complement for their esthetics staff and contractors, not a substitute for entity general liability and medical professional liability arranged through a specialist med-spa broker.
