Moxie

Med-spa operating system bundling software with compliance, coaching and done-for-you services

Our verdict

A purpose-built aesthetics platform that bundles software with compliance, a medical director network and coaching — outstanding for new independent owners, but quote-only pricing and bundled services make it less compelling for established groups.

About

Moxie is an all-in-one operating system built specifically for aesthetic medicine, not adapted from generic salon or wellness software. It bundles a HIPAA-compliant EMR, scheduling, online booking, integrated payments and BNPL, inventory with VIP supplier pricing, memberships and reporting into one system, then layers on the services independent owners typically lack: medical director matching with collaborative agreements, lawyer-vetted SOPs and compliance tooling (GFEs, audit trails, state-specific checklists), marketing support and one-on-one business coaching.

The company describes itself as a "medspa-in-a-box" and is best understood as a growth partner rather than a pure software vendor. It is most compelling for aspiring or early-stage owners — frequently nurses and nurse practitioners — who want help standing up a compliant, profitable practice. Established multi-location groups that already have a medical director, compliance process and marketing in place may find the bundled services less essential and should weigh the platform against more transparent, software-only options.

Ideal customer

Aspiring and early-stage independent medspa owners — often nurses and nurse practitioners — who want purpose-built aesthetics software plus done-for-you compliance, medical director, marketing and coaching support to launch and scale a profitable practice.

Our Moxie review

Where Moxie fits

Moxie is one of the few platforms in this category that was built from the ground up for aesthetic medicine rather than adapted from salon or wellness software. But the more important distinction is its model: Moxie is not just software, it is a done-for-you growth partner. Alongside an aesthetics EMR, booking, payments and inventory, it bundles the things new medspa owners most often lack — medical director matching with collaborative agreements, lawyer-vetted SOPs and compliance tooling, marketing support and one-on-one business coaching.

That makes it squarely aimed at aspiring and early-stage owners, frequently nurses and nurse practitioners launching a first practice. Founded in 2022 and headquartered in New York, the company has raised meaningful venture funding (through a Series C) and says it supports more than 700 practices nationwide.

What stands out

  • Aesthetics-first design. Charting templates, GFEs, standing orders and consents are tailored to injectable and device work rather than bolted on.
  • Compliance and medical direction handled. For a nurse who cannot legally practice without a collaborating physician, Moxie's medical director network and compliance defaults remove a genuine barrier to opening.
  • Cost leverage on product. VIP supplier pricing on injectables and supplies can offset a real share of the subscription.
  • Hands-on support. Practice success managers and coaching mean onboarding is more guided than typical self-serve SaaS.

Where it falls short

  • No published pricing. Everything is quote-based and assembled via a strategy session, which makes apples-to-apples comparison hard and lowers transparency relative to peers like Mangomint that post their tiers.
  • Redundancy for established groups. If you already have a medical director, a compliance process and a marketing function, you are paying for a bundle you may not need; software-only tools could be cheaper.
  • Shorter track record. As a 2022-founded company, Moxie has less longevity than incumbents, and there is limited independent third-party review coverage to validate the software on its own.

Note on ratings: at the time of writing we could not find a credible, high-volume third-party rating (Capterra/G2) for Moxie's software, so we have left the ratings field empty rather than cite a thin or unverifiable score.

Who should choose it

Choose Moxie if you are opening or scaling an independent medspa and want a partner, not just a login — especially if you need a medical director, compliance scaffolding and coaching to get off the ground compliantly. If you already run an established practice with those functions in place, pressure-test the quote against transparent software-only platforms before committing.
